Dr. Cynthia Russell, Founder and President

As the founder and president of CG Russell Consulting & Executive Coaching, Dr. Cynthia G. Russell helps individuals, teams, and organizations master the unique demands of leadership in an age of ever-increasing complexity.

Cynthia leverages over 30 years of experience working alongside leaders of public, private, and startup companies across the country, coaching and guiding individuals and teams on how to adapt their leadership practices to impact motivation, engagement, and the bottom line.

Expertise

A regular speaker, trainer, and coach for executives, CEOs, business owners, industry conferences, and more, Cynthia specializes in communication, emotional intelligence competencies, relationship management, talent development, performance evaluation, workplace diversity, and high-valueemployee retention strategies. She has over three decades of experience, including previous work at companies such as J.P. Morgan and American Express.

Education

She has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and a doctorate in adult learning and leadership from Columbia University. She is also a certified executive coach from Columbia University. She regularly publishes in academic journals, including recent articles in the Journal of Workplace Learning and Advances in Developing Human Resources, and conducted extensive research to develop her unique model of leadership in complexity.

Experience

Recent projects include designing and facilitating a leadership development workshop series for an international staffing firm, implementing a performance management system for a global tire manufacturer, conducting organizational planning for a large privately held company, coaching through conflict for a private equity firm, and developing a talent strategy for a startup company specializing in international business outsourcing.

Esteem

Cynthia appears frequently as a guest speaker and workshop leader at industry conferences, where she shares her findings on the power of action learning theories and practices. Her previous workshops have included “Structured Problem-Solving Tools: Action Learning Conversations,” “Emotional Intelligence Assessments,” “C3—Leadership and Connecting Through Caring,” “The ORID Framework for Structured Conversation,” and “Brain Science and Leadership.”
